Circuit Board Interconnection and Jumpers

(Last Update: 12/12/2009)

The above drawing is a composite of the two jumpers used on the main

board,  plus interconnections between the Vfo and Main boards, and to

power, switches and jacks.  This may be helpful to Rockless Builders in their

final assembly stages of their Rockless.

          Note the following points:

                   1. All colored lines go from one end to the other. There are no

intermediate connections to board points the colored wires cross.

                   2. On the key jack you may need to reverse the tip and ring connections

if your paddle works backwards – ie it send dits in place of dahs”

                   3. The solder hole where the VFO gets power is marked on the board “osc”.

                   4. Note that two terminals of the volume control are connected together

to present a variable resistance across terminal 6 and 7 of U2 the audio

amplifier chip.  Test for minimum resistance when fully counter clockwise.

The 1 megohm resistance will be measured when turned fully clockwise.

The 1 megohm fixed resistor normally connected to these points is omitted.
